Ben Nevis Pony Track

After reading inspiring articles about this trail before climbing it myself last summer, I wanted to illustrate the walk and it’s surrounding peaks.

I set myself a brief to create a landscape illustration panorama, encompassing the entire pony trail as it can not be seen all at once in any photograph.

The highlighted yellow track can be seen weaving up the mountain. the medium of illustration allowing the path to be visible where it would hide around corners and false peaks in a photograph.

I used this image to mock up a magazine layout describing the history of the trail from the Ben Nevis website, alongside essential hiking information, envisioning a beautiful magazine layout to inspire others to recreate this beautiful walk.
