This editorial project was launched from a brief set by agent Lilla Rodger’s on one of her MATS courses in response to the theme of connecting with someone who has passed.

In the U.K. tea is a symbol of coming together and ‘catching up’. The Lilly is a common flower used to express sympathy and loss and symbolises a connection with the afterlife in many cultures. The flowers tattooed on the hands both hold similar symbolism and the stars form the star sign constellations of the two characters.

Similarly the celestial setting for the illustration is representative of loved ones passing ‘to the heavens’.
